FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Elizabeth Bash is Home
Elizabeth Bash, who was injured at a race
in Texas, came home Wednesday of last week after a 2 1/2 week
stay at a hospital. She is reported to be feeling better. Her
pancreas injury is healing slowly and she is still on IV
nutrition. This Tuesday (March 18) was the
first day that she could eat, but it is still a trial and error
process. A cyst is
forming over the lacerated part of the pancreas which needs to
be watched for possible draining. So far, still no surgery.
Her spleen has stopped bleeding and it is expected that it will
heal on its own.
She went to see specialists today at the University of
California Irvine. Those doctors are some of the few that have
experience with this type of injury. They are encouraged by her
progress and will monitor her closely over the next weeks and
months.
